'M' Wizard - About

'M' Wizard, the animated interactive wizard for web pages, is a free JavaScript released under the terms of the GNU General Public license.
It has been developed and is commercially supported by MTC Infomedia OHG, a Germany-based company specializing in the development of innovative web applications.

What is it good for?

You may already have some idea if you looked at the screenshots or checked out the small examples on our demo page.
You could also take the guided tour (requires cookies to be switched on), allowing 'M' to explain some of it's advantages to you.
Actually, you can integrate 'M' in your web application or advanced web site for a lot of different purposes. To give just a few examples:

• Implement a dialog based help system based on 'M' Wizard.
• Let 'M' Wizard assist users in learning about the features of your web site (just like in 'M's guided tour right here on 'M's home page).
• Position 'M' dynamically on your page and use it as an advanced tool tip mechanism.
• Build a fortune teller on top of 'M'.
• Implement a "tip of the day" tool using 'M' Wizard.
• Analyze your user's behaviour and use 'M' to assist them in optimizing their account settings according to their individual needs.
• Combine any of this to occasionally open little advertisement messages through 'M' Wizard. Be sure, they will attract your users attention ;-)

Additionally, there are a lot of other opportunities to use 'M' Wizard.

How do I get it?

Just check out the download section to download the open source edition right away. A comprehensive documentation for administrators and developers is also available for download.

Is it really free?

'M' Wizard is Open Source (as defined by the Free Software Foundation and GNU). It is covered by the GNU General Public License (GPL). No tricks, it's really free :-)
However, if you prefer to purchase a commercial license, you're also free to get one. Just contact MTC Infomedia's sales & support staff at info(at)mtc-infomedia.de. A commercial license offers you additional freedoms (from a commercial point of view), such as the opportunity to remove the license notice or keep sources out of your customers reach. Additionally, customers of our commercial license are entitled to get far-reaching personal product support for free.

I need support - how do I get it?

Please first refer to the 'M' Wizard manual, which is available in the download section.
If you need further help and are a customer of our commercial license, you can contact our support staff at any time. If you're not, you may ask for a quote to receive commercial support.
Or try to get some help from the community (but as usual in this case: no warranty, whatsoever...).

Tatsächlich lässt 'M' Wizard sich für eine Vielzahl von Anwendungsfällen in Web-Anwendungen und dynamischen Seiten einsetzen. Um nur einige Beispiele zu geben:

• Implementieren Sie ein Dialog-basiertes Hilfe-System für Ihre Seite mit 'M' Wizard.
• Lassen Sie 'M' Wizard die Funktionen Ihrer Seite erklären. Ganz ähnlich wie in der Guided Tour.
• Positionieren Sie 'M' dynamisch und setzen Sie ihn als fortgeschrittenes Tool-Tip-System ein.
• Platzieren Sie einen "Spruch des Tages" mithilfe von 'M'.
• Analysieren Sie das Benutzerverhalten und lassen Sie 'M' individuelle Tips zur Optimierung der persönlichen Einstellungen geben.
• Kombinieren Sie einen der Vorschläge mit der Idee, 'M' zwischendurch auch Werbemitteilungen machen zu lassen. Sie können sich sicher sein, dass Ihre Benutzer auf diese Botschaften aufmerksam werden.
